Affirmation: My stumbles will secure my success.
This morning’s quote in The Daily Love newsletter inspired this affirmation.
Part of the quote, by author Joseph Campbell: “It is by going down into the abyss that we recover the treasures of life. Where you stumble, there lies your treasure.”
To summarize, Campbell is saying: It is in our “stumbles” that we find success. Why? Easy. Because no matter how talented, gifted, connected you are, you WILL fall on the path. You WILL get lost on the path. You WILL trip over a loose brick or two.
But do you want to be sitting at home with Toto in Kansas DREAMING about your yellow brick road or would you rather be ON it, walking, doing, discovering, learning? I’d much rather be *stumbling* than *sitting*.
Right? So today I encourage you to look at your stumbles as steps TOWARD your success. Because you are making them, creating them, moving through them.
And like Campbell says in his quote, on the other side of that stumble IS the treasure. So don’t avoid the stumble – embrace it.
