But linking you to last night’s episode isn’t the only reason I wanted to write this blog post to you.
I wanted to write you these words – because someone reading this needs them right now.So often we find ourselves in a state of “This is too hard.” or “Why does it have to be like this?” or “I’ve been working on this for so long, and it’s just never going to change. Maybe I should give up while I’m ahead.” We find ourselves working and then when “what we’re working isn’t working,” we become a somber pessimistic who decide to “face reality” and return to a normal state of living, imagining, and creating.
Please, please don’t be normal – because you were born to be crazy. The “craziest” people (at least by society’s definition) make the most radical and empowering change.
Here’s a few who refused to let hard times, frustration and “working too hard” stand in their way. Ever.
“Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain’t all sunshine and rainbows. It’s a very mean and nasty place and I don’t care how tough you are it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain’t about how hard ya hit. It’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward. That’s how winning is done!” – Sylvester Stallone, Rocky Balboa
“I refuse to accept the view that mankind is so tragically bound to the starless midnight of racism and war that the bright daybreak of peace and brotherhood can never become a reality… I believe that unarmed truth and unconditional love will have the final word.” – Martin Luther King, Jr.
“The future depends entirely on what each of us does every day; a movement is only people moving.” – Gloria Steinem
“I refuse to be normal! I am a crazy creator of opportunity today – and everyday!!” – YOU (click here to tweet!)
Yes, we can all feel “a little frustrated” at circumstances every now and again. We are only human. But we are also creators, and for those who believe in a higher power, we are creators through the inspiration and direction of something much bigger than us – and made up of nothing but love. And when we can declare ourselves crazy creators of opportunity … crazy creators from the chaos … crazy creators of commitment to ourselves and living with a Carpe Diem, let’s-do-this attitude because who knows what day may be our last … ha! All that negative energy flies out the window.
Feel it? I know I do, simply writing this blog post.
Healing begins when we encourage healing in the person before us. Which is why I ask that you watch this episode to learn how you can just that for yourself – and the people around you.
